'DIXIE'S' is
my Kennel - name, because I love this part of the country.
I've seen Tennessee, Georgia,
Alabama, South Carolina and Mississippi
several times - the more I go
there, the more I feel at home.
I love
the
landscapes, the people, the hospitality,
the history and the present.
Some words about this flag
,
that I love also:
When I was in Dixie first time,
I spent the night at a hotel in Jackson/MS. After dinner I went to the
hotel-bar; there I met three coloured women.
We spent the evening together
singing gospels and - because I asked for it - at last 'Dixie'. All the
time I had a sticker on my jacket,
showing the 'battleflag'.
When the evening was over and
I went to go to bed, I was informed by the barkeeper, that this flag in
the South means a sign for racism.
For me this was totally new,
I never had heard this before.
This flag is one of a lot of
used flags in the War between the States.
Originally only the flag of
the marine, it later
became the sign for the whole
South.
For me this flag NEVER was a
sign for racism and it NEVER WILL BE.
For me this flag represents
freedom -
and the right to choose your
own way to go in life.
It means to me a sign against
opression from 'above' also.
All these rights are fixed in
the American Constitution -
an other reason, why I love
this land so much.
No more words...enjoy some of
my personal impressions of DIXIE
